Incentives
to IT industry
o
Blanket exemption from pollution control regulations
to all IT software units.
o
All new IT units exempted from payment of electricity
duty.
o
IT units with captive generating sets up to 150 KVA
exempted from payment of electricity duty without any
time limit.
o
All new hardware units exempted from electricity charge
for a period of ten years from date of commercial production.
o
Up to 50% of the fee paid to recognised certification
institutions for an ISO 9000 series certificate reimbursed.
o
IT industries exempted from payment of stamp duty on
acquisition of property.
o
25% rebate on premium charged for land allocation in
Industrial Growth Centres.
o
IT units meeting price / quality standards and located
within the State (specially small units) preferred in
Government purchases.
o
Assistance up to 25% of the infrastructure cost, subject
to a maximum of Rupees one crore, and interest subsidy
at the rate of 5% per annum, subject to a maximum of
Rs. 5 lakhs, given for hardware units located outside
industrial areas.
o
A technology upgradation fund of Rs. 30 crores over
the next five years created for hardware units to provide
interest subsidy to small and medium scale industries
against loans taken from banks or financial institutions.
o
An infrastructure support at the rate of 10% of the
project cost given to units set up in backward areas.
o
Other
incentives given to small-scale industries will also
apply to IT units.
