Bhilai is the Knowledge Capital of Chhattisgarh. It contributes nearly 50 students every year to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology. Located a mere 35 kilometres away from the State capital at Raipur, it is home to five Engineering Colleges besides another two Engineering Colleges located in nearby Raipur. Its cosmopolitan and modern ambience has always made it a most enjoyable city to visit or to live in. With a modern and yet modest half a million population it has all the amenities of modern living minus the problems. Low cost of real estate and low cost of living make it possible to have lower capital and recurring costs here. A large number of Engineers hailing from here are expected to gravitate closer home once IT industry begins proliferating here. Its IT professionals are equally proficient in Hindi and in English, which is an added asset in view of the special focus the State has on Devnagari software.


With this in view, the State Government decided to set up its first International Gateway Hub and Software Technology Park here in association with Software Technology Parks of India Ltd., an undertaking of the Ministry of Information Technology. The Hub will take care of all external connectivity needs of the State.


An existing building of nearly seventeen thousand square feet will house the first entrants to the Park while more facilities get built up. A total of 7.46 acres of land is available with the Park in the best part of the City to meet all requirements for land. Completion is expected in a couple of months.
